Widdershoven Architecten 2.17

Widdershoven Architecten is a architectural firm in Kerkrade, The Netherlands. Situated in
the south of The Netherlands, but in the heart of Europe. Founded in 1987 Widdershoven
Architecten celebrated its 25th anniversary in 2012.

In these 25 years we built a portfolio that spreads from interior design, residential design,
retail and leisure design, to specialties in stadiumdesign and healthcaredesign.

Our ideal is to design in such a reduced form, that the results endure content and time.
Formal restriction and uniformity of materials contribute to this standpoint. We try to avoid
expressionist forms without reference to use or construction. A design must be the result of
an open dialogue and adaptation of one’s position to changing conditions.

Regarding stadiumdesign we developed the first fully multi-commercial stadium in The
Netherlands. This building in Zwolle (NL) for FC Zwolle contains 10,000 seats for spectators
and several floors for the footballclub. Incorporated in this building are 30,000 m2 of
commercial area that help make the stadium affordable for the footballclub and thus
guaranteeing a financially stable footballteam.
