RadioDay Harlingen 2.59

RadioDay op 20 mei wordt een dag met veel opmerkelijke bezoekers. Veel mensen die vroeger of nu heel betrokken waren of (nog) zijn bij het radiogebeuren, vaak ook buitengaats. Het is leuk om in ieder geval op voorhand te melden dat ook Stevie Gorden van de partij zal zijn. Hij wordt overgevlogen vanuit Oslo! De echte zeezenderkenners hebben over Stevie geen verdere uitleg nodig, maar voor bij wie nog geen lampje gaat branden: hij wordt wel de 'legende' van Radio Caroline genoemd. Actief programmamaker, regelaar en vooral ook: geweldig aardige man. Wist je dat hij indertijd de laatste man was die van de al zinkende Mi Amigo stapte? Stevie vertelt er graag over. Niet alleen tegenover een zaal met toehoorders, maar ook persoonlijk met andere bezoekers. Wil je het meemaken? Bezoek dan op 20 mei de RadioDay in het Entrepotgebouw aan de Willemshaven in Harlingen. Toegang bij betaling vooraf: 15 euro. Je kunt aanvullend ook het radiolichtschip Jenni Baynton bezoeken. Parkeeradvies: Het grote parkeerterrein ten zuiden van de brandweerkazerne (gratis) aan de Westerzeedijk. Dit parkeerterrein vindt u aan de voet van het standbeeld 'De Stenen Man' op de zeedijk.
Parkeerterrein nabij locatie (betaald).

Routing per auto

Komend vanaf Amsterdam / Afsluitdijk (A7):

Neem na de sluizen van Kornwerderzand de afslag Harlingen / Leeuwarden (N31). Neem na c.a. 5 kilometer de afslag Kimswerd. Neem onderaan de rotonde ¾ (linksaf dus) richting Harlingen Haven. Neem vervolgens de afslag rechts en volg de weg langs de dijk tot aan de linkerkant het standbeeld van Caspar di Robles. Daar kunt u links onderaan de dijk parkeren of aan de rechterkant op het grote parkeerterrein bij de sporthal.

U loopt via de trap naar het standbeeld over de dijk en slaat rechtsaf. Vervolgens loopt u ca 5 minuten tot u voor een elektriciteitshuisje staat. U gaat rechtdoor en staat na 100 meter op de Nieuwe Willemskade voor het entrepot.

Komend vanaf Heerenveen / Sneek (A7):

Neem de afslag Harlingen (N31) en volg de weg. Neem na c.a. 5 kilometer de afslag Kimswerd. Neem onderaan de rotonde ¾ (linksaf dus) richting Harlingen Haven. Neem vervolgens de afslag rechts en volg de weg langs de dijk tot aan de linkerkant het standbeeld van Caspar di Robles. Neem de 1e afslag Harlingen (afrit Harlingen Haven). Neem op de rotonde de eerste afslag en volg de weg (c.a. 3 kilometer). Ga over de brug en volg de weg, ga over de brug en volg de weg scherp rechts over weer een brug. Volg de weg en neem de afslag rechts (over het spoor) en houdt links aan. Rijdt door tot u rechts het standbeeld van Caspar di Robles ziet. Daar kunt u rechts onderaan de dijk parkeren of aan de linkerkant op het grote parkeerterrein bij de sporthal.

Routing per trein

Neem in Leeuwarden de trein naar Harlingen / Harlingen Haven (spoor 1). Stap uit op station Harlingen. Loop uit de trein links tot waar u onder de muur door kunt. U ziet het entrepot aan de linkerkant over het water.

Sla nadat u onder muur door bent, linksaf en loop door tot u rechtsaf kunt. U staat dan voor het entrepot.

Radio Day May 20th 2017 will be a day with a number of remarkable visitors and guests. Many of them involved in offshre radio in the past and even as we speak! We are happy to announce Stevie Gordon will be one of the guests, flying in from Norway. MOst of you will know he worked for Radio Caroline (last man leaving the Mi Amgo before she sank), the VOP and Radio Seagull. You want to meet up and catch up? Visit warehouse “The Entrepot” in Harlingen harbour on May 20th. Admission by pre-booking is €15. You can also visit the actually broadcasting radioship Jenni Baynton. Coming from direction Amsterdam / Afsluitdijk (A7):

About a mile after the locks at Kornwerderzand take the exit Harlingen / Leeuwarden (N31). Follow that road. After 2,5 mile take the exit Kimswerd. Turn left (roundabout ¾ anti clockwise, direction “Harlingen Haven”. After that turn right and follow the road until you see the before mentioned statue on your left. There is a car park on you left hand side at the foot of the dyke, there is also a car park across the street. Both free of charge.

You go up the stairs towards the statue and take a turn right. Continue to go until there is a small (electricity central) building in front of you. Continue to walk the same way for 750 meters and you are in front of the warehouse.

Coming from direction Heerenveen / Sneek (A7):

Take the exit Harlingen (N31) and follow the road.. After 2,5 mile take the exit Kimswerd. Turn left (roundabout ¾ anti clockwise), direction “Harlingen Haven”. Take the 1st exit mentioning Harlingen. Take the first turn right on the roundabout and follow the road for about 2 miles, passing the bridge. The road is not a straight road. You pass the ferry terminal and cross another bridge, immediately after that turn right an cross another bridge. The stay on the road for 1000 meters and take turn right across the railroad. Follow the road until you see the before mentioned statue on your right. There is a car park on you right hand side at the foot of the dyke, there is also a car park across the street. Both free of charge.

Routing by train

From Amsterdam Central station as well as Schiphol airport there is a train to Harlingen, with only 1 change in Leeuwarden (platform 1). Get out at Harlingen Haven and turn left when leaving the train. Go underneath the arch on your left and turn left. The Warehouse is on the other side of the dock.
