Hello! My name is Pimpat and I am originally from Bangkok, Thailand. I have started to take piano lessons at an early age. I followed the ABRSM (The Associated Board of the Royal School of Music) curriculum and passed Grade 8 examinations both in performing and in theory at the age of 16. I have continued to further my music education with various professors from the UK, the US, and also from Bulgaria which I can provide you with reference. In 2012, while studying in the US during my high school years, I had also taken private piano lessons at the Music department at the University of Notre Dame. I have been performing and giving classical piano lessons to children of all ages and also to adults for 10 years, mostly to the expat community in Bangkok. I have relocated to the Netherlands towards the end of 2013. My dutch is at the intermediate level (B1). I am fluent in English, but can also give lessons in dutch. I can give lessons at your place or you can come to mine. I have a grand-piano and an upright in my living room. It is a small cozy space! I am aware that each student needs a different approach, therefore, my approach can vary depending on each individual. Learning music and playing piano are fun and enjoyable, however, it does come with discipline and practice! The students can show how much they progress by giving a performance at the concert.
For the teaching materials, I use several sources, for instance, the Alfred's which comes with notespeller, techniques, theory, etc. to curriculums of the ABRSM and the Trinity Guildhall. I also hand out some pop songs to play along as well. By doing so, the students are not just focusing on the old classical pieces, but also more recent popular songs while still learning the techniques of the classical pieces.
The lessons are from 30 - 60 mins, consisted of listening skills, teachniques and performing, as well as, theory part. Duo-les is possible, although I highly recommend a one-on-one lesson for a better concentration and a better result. As mentioned previously, each student may need different approaches, some can concentrate well with another student in the lesson and some may not.
Trial lesson (Proefles) is free of charge! Come along and let's play some piano!
