SAS was established in 1896 and is specialized in designing and manufacturing reliable deck equipment for the offshore oil and gas market.
Over the years SAS has gained extensive experience in: Pipe Lay Systems, Winch Systems and Heavy Lift and Handling Systems. After sales and service has always been considered to be the key responsibility after delivery of the equipment to ensure continued operation. SAS service team is on call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, anywhere in the world.

Offshore. Since 1896.

There is no getting around it. After 1896 the world would never be the same again. From that time onwards, slowly but surely, the maritime and offshore business would be shaken up. The start of a new era. The era of SAS Offshore. A company whose genesis is seen more frequently in world class businesses. A small company that started as a machine manufacturer, but which - quite soon - could not disguise its love for the maritime business. A small company that developed into a genuine business. A business that has become an international player. On the high seas. A business that has gained renown. An international business that managed to turn the twentieth century into a new Golden Age by being first in many respects.

Our power
Is it the genes of old Mr Sas? Undoubtedly. Is it Dutch 'thoroughness'? That will also play a part, no doubt. Is it the timber from which the SAS men and woman were hewn? Bingo. It is no coincidence that we are talking about 'Reliable deck equipment'' and 'Reliable lifting equipment'. Let's be frank about it; you can only achieve that through the right people. People with the right experience, the right attitude, operating with precision. And that is the strength of SAS. That is the power that was in place by the end of the nineteenth century. That is the ability to be first time and time again. The first portable, containerized tensioners. The first pipe handling and tensioning equipment for very deep waters. Big, bigger, biggest.
