In the early 1930's, Klaas Greydanus senior started doing business in potatoes on the local market in Leeuwarden. The demand for potatoes strongly rose during his early years, and as a result of that, Klaas senior moved to a warehouse in Leeuwarden. In 1963 the company expanded to a farm in Marrum, with Jacob Douwe Greydanus, Klaas senior's son, taking over
During the years that followed, the company started selling crops and packaged potatoes to supermarkets, as well as the exportation of those crops and potatoes to Germany.
In the late 1990's, Jacob Greydanus retired as CEO of Greydanus, and his two sons, Klaas and Cor took over. During that period, the company also moved its base of operations from Marrum to Heerenveen. The company has been active here since.
Greydanus intends to supply every popular potato race, with the highest quality standards. To prove and support that, Greydanus has been certified by the NAO, IFS, GMP and SKAL.
