The threat to the rhino in South Africa has never been so high. In just a few years the number of poached rhinos went from 14 a year up to 668 last year, and already over 900 this year. Poaching has changed, so anti poaching must change as well.
We will do this by developing an unmanned aerial system to find the rhinos and poachers from the air. Combining the skills and knowledge of three Dutch universities (TU Delft, University of Amsterdam and Hogeschool van Amsterdam) we can develop an easy to use UAS with the right functionality at low costs.
