Aikidojo Amsterdam 2.34

Aikidojo is a traditional and modern Japanese martial arts school, under the tutelage of Erik Louw, Shidosha Menkyo Katori Shinto Ryu, 6st dan Aikikai Aikido and Knight in the Order of Orange-Nassau.

Aikidojo is an organization focused on teachings in the oldest extant traditional Japanese martial arts of Tenshin Shōden Katori Shintō-ryū - 天真正伝香取神道流 - (Otake line) and in the modern Japanese martial art of Aikido - 合気道.

Our aikido school differentiates itself with a clear focus on martial principles, correct technical application and the direct linkage with sword principles from Koryu styles like Katori and Kashima Shin Ryu, while also emphasizing personal, community and leadership development. Our aikido teaching curriculum is based on Aikikai Hombu tradition.

Aikidojo is made by the kind and awesome personalities of its members. Our dojos are open for anyone who is motivated to train and who want to develop themselves physically as well as mentally. People from all walks of life, age, gender and cultural backgrounds are welcome. Aikidojo is well known for its acceptance of less able-bodied students, some of whom have already advanced to black belt level. Our own aikido and katori dojo is located in Amsterdam. Sensei Erik Louw also regularly teaches at affiliated partner dojos in Amstelveen, Deventer, Haarlem and Zwolle, and he also is regularly invited to give seminars abroad in countries such as Argentina, France, Greece and Macedonia.
