Johan Visschedijk was born in 1963 and started working as a photographer in 1988. After a few years, he decided to specialise in food photography and has since worked for all major brands in the Netherlands and abroad. In 2002 he founded Limelight Photography.

In 2007, he branched out into car photography, a field in which he has built up extensive experience in using CGI solutions.
By the end of 2008 Andreas Rücker, Dick Boot and Johan Visschedijk founded 809cgi. In 2010 Dick Boot left the company.
In October 2011 Limelight Photography and 809cgi continued working under the name 809cgi.
In April 2012 Andreas Rücker passed away after having struggled four years with cancer.
