Siloé Ministries 4.05

Siloé Ministries is a Christian non-profit organization based in La Mision, Baja California, Mexico. Our primary outreach is a full-service, free community medical and dental clinic housed on the grounds of our local church, Templo Cristiano Elim. We also lead health-based outreaches and education programs in several nearby agricultural communities.

Our community clinic offers the underserved everything from general medical consults to prenatal care, health education, and sports clinics. Our ultimate desire is to lead our patients to deeper relationships with Christ, so one-on-one counseling and prayer is a vital component of our interaction with patients.

We also regularly host medical missions groups and volunteer doctors, dentists, PAs, and nurses from the U.S.

Our community of 3,000-5,000 people (no accurate census data!) struggles with poverty, high unemployment and addiction. The needs are great, but God is doing many amazing things in our valley.

In September 2015 we broke ground on a 6,000 sq. ft. community Wellness Center that will be our organization's permanent home in the heart of our village. Slated for completion in 2017, the Center includes a fully-equipped family clinic, lab, and dental wing, all-purpose space for health education classes and events, and housing for volunteers.

The Spanish name "Siloé" refers to the pool of Siloam where Jesus sent the blind man to wash in John 9:

"Then he spit on the ground, made mud with the saliva, and spread the mud over the blind man’s eyes. 7 He told him, “Go wash yourself in the pool of Siloam” (Siloam means “sent”). So the man went and washed and came back seeing!"
