Platón Sánchez Municipality is one of the 212 municipalities of the Mexican state of Veracruz. It is located in the state's Huasteca Alta region. The municipal seat is the town of Platón Sánchez.GeographyThe municipality covers a toal area of 227.84 km² and is located on Federal Highway 123.BordersIt borders on Tempoal Municipality (north), Tantoyuca Municipality (east), Chalma Municipality (south) and Chiconamel Municipality (south-east). To the south it borders on the state of Hidalgo.ProductsMajor products are corn, cereal, sugar, and fruits.DemographicsIn the 2005 INEGI Census, the municipality reported a total population of 17,670, of whom 10,009 lived in the municipal seat.
