Our name is The Adoptables because that is our mission. No matter how awesome you create a shelter, no matter how comfortable, safe and healthy we keep the dogs, no matter how much love and socialization we give them...there is no substitute for a loving home.
Dogs and people evolved together. Domestic animals are part of us and our past as human beings. Dogs keep us grounded in reality. Dogs force us to look at the world as it is and to live in the moment. They provide support and comfort. They give us a reason to go for a walk and make sure we take care of ourselves and them.
Our goal is to make as many of the world's best dogs ready to be with you, the human reading this. World's best dogs? YES! Mexican street dogs do not survive unless they are friendly, smart and healthy. The streets of Baja are a cruel obstacle course and for a dog to reach adulthood here means he has survived disease, cars, cruelty, coyotes and other predators. Our dogs are smart, healthy and wanting so much to have their very own human.
Even an imperfect FurParent is better than a shelter. You don't have to be perfect, just care. Please consider adopting a shelter pet, you will change their lives and yours, fur-ever.
