Jorge Diego Etienne (Tampico, 1983) is a highly motivated Industrial Designer from Mexico with a global perspective on design. He graduated with a BS in Industrial Design from the Tec de Monterrey in 2009 and his experience includes an insternship at Feiz Design Studio in Amsterdam, workshops with top global design companies and courses at renown design schools like Central Saint Martins in London, Domus Academy in Milan, and Parsons the New School for Design in New York.

In 2011 he participated in the exchange program ''Modern Design and Traditional Craftsmanship'' organized by the Japan International Cooperation Agency in Kyoto, Japan where he researched and experimented with the intersection of cultural objects with contemporary products.

Founded in 2012, his studio has developed a flexible design process that allows it to work on a variety of projects in scale, scope and objectives. We work with companies in Mexico and abroad on specific products for commercial release, conceptual exploration for new business possibilities, creative direction and design consultancy.

The studio takes special interest in collaborating with artisans, craftsmen and workshops in Mexico. We value tradition by pushing it forward through design.

Jorge Diego's work has been featured at important design exhibitions at the Museo de Arte Moderno (MAM), Museo de Arte Popular (MAP), National Art Center of Mexico (CENART), Franz Mayer Museum, Centro de las Artes CONARTE, and has exhibited his work at the Contemporary Art/Design fair Zona Maco, Mexico Design Week, Abierto Mexicano de Diseño, the Bienal Iberoamericana de Diseño and has been widely published around the world.

In 2016 Jorge Diego presented ¨Círculos" at the renown Salone Satellite during the Salone Milan Furniture Fair.

He is a founding member of Cooperativa Panorámica, a group of young Mexican designers exploring new design territories. Their work has been exhibited in important design events such as the Internacional Contemporary Furniture Fair (ICFF) in New York, Maison & Objet in Paris, Collective Design Fair in New York, and in 2015 did a resideny in Casa Wabi Oaxaca.

Jorge Diego is interested in promoting design and foster new talents. He is editor of Designaholic and organizes DECODE, a design festival and student exhibition in Monterrey. He teaches at CEDIM and is a visiting professor at the Tec de Monterrey Campus Guadalajara. He is a frequent guest lecture and gives design conferences through out Mexico and abroad.
