Cuixmala Built by international financer Sir James Goldsmith as a private family retreat it has played host to Presidents, Prime Ministers, Movie Stars, Rock Stars and high profile billionaires. Still owned by members of the Goldsmith family, it continues to be maintained as a grand private estate which now accepts paying guests on a limited basis. Cuixmala has implemented many conservation programs, bringing the property closer to full sustainability and expanded the Organic farming operations. Set within 25,000 acres of nature reserve, the property is home to almost 300 species of birds, endangered mammals such as the jaguar. Cuixmala sponsors a sea turtle protection program which is one of the most successful in the world and has stabilized the sea turtle population in the area.
