Morocco Deserts 3.67

Hassan is an Amazigh (mostly known as berber) born in the middle of the dunes, in a small settlement called Erg Smar, in 1989. His exact date of birth is not known by his family so his birthday can be whenever he wants. The place where he feels more comfortable and happy is under a starry sky with good friends, an hypnotic fire, music and a strong and sweet tea. The first years of his life were spent in the dunes surrounded by a beautiful, magical and silent landscape. Together with the foxes, the gazelles, the scorpions, snakes and camels that was their home. However one day the water in the wells started to disappeared and he and his family were forced to run with the gazelles to a new place: M’Hamid El Ghizlane (‘land of the gazelles’), where they live nowadays.

When Hassan was 16 years old along with his friends they started exploring and learning with elder nomads about all the wonders of Sahara, showing and sharing it with visitors from all over the world. Today the desert has no mysteries to him, being able to handle any situation in the desert wilderness. His desert and home is always open to new and adventurous people who want to know more about berber culture and feel the true magic of Sahara. Welcome home!
