７月中旬までと１０月からは積雪期対応が必要です。

ルート上部では高山・岩稜帯特有の危険があります（落石、高山病、低体温症等）。

=MAIN ROUTE=

--Kamikochi (Bus terminal) - Yokoo - Karasawa - Hotakadakesanso - Mt.Okuhotakadake(3,190m)
--Kamikochi (Bus terminal) - Dakesawa - Mt.Maehotakadake - Mt.Okuhotakadake(3,190m) - Hotakadakesanso

etc.

It takes about 9 hours from Kamikochi to Hotakadake-sanso.
You have to bring enough clothing and gears ; shoes to walk on way of rocks, rainwear(like Goretex), warm clothing(like Polar fleece or down jacket), etc.
Even in mid summer, The temperature is 5℃ at night. You need to wear or bring long pants.

Route Kamikochi - Yokoo - Karasawa is most popular course and has mountain hut in every 1-2 hours.
Above Karasawa, you will go up the rock zone called 'Seitengrat' (it means 'supporting-ridge' in German). It has steel steps and steep rock steps.

Another route, Kamikochi - Dakesawa, you will go up long steep trail, and have to walk ridge from Mt.Maehotaka-dake to Mt. Okuhotaka-dake.
If you have little experience to walk on mountain ridges, you may not walk there.

We know the guide book in English: 'Lonely Planet - Hiking in JAPAN', it mentions Yokoo- Karasawa course as sub-route of Yari - Hotaka course.

If you feel danger, you must stop the trekking (though you started it).
Difficulty of trekking may change because of the weather and seasons.

Snow will remain until July mid, and It snows from Sep late - Oct mid.

Please prepare an exact map, in order to avoid danger. We recommend you a mountain map by Shobunsha Publications that is popular in Japanese hiker.
