Aichidaigakumae Station is a train station on the Toyohashi Railway’s Atsumi Line in Toyohashi, Aichi Prefecture, Japan. It is located 2.5 rail kilometers from the terminus of the line at Shin-Toyohashi Station.Station HistoryAichidaigakumae Station was established on April 25, 1924, as Shidanguchi Station on the privately held Atsumi Railroad. The station name, meaning "Division entrance", derived from its proximity to the main gate of the Imperial Japanese Army, originally garrisoned by the 15th Division. On September 1, 1940, the Atsumi Railway became part of the Nagoya Railway system, and the station name was changed to Takashiguchi Station on November 1, 1943, for reasons of military security. The station was closed on June 5, 1944. It was reopened on April 1, 1968, as a station of the Toyohashi Railway as Daigakumae Station to serve the nearby campus of Aichi University. The station name changed to its present name on January 29, 2005.LinesToyohashi RailroadAtsumi LineLayoutAichidaigakumae Station is an unmanned station with a single side platform serving bi-directional traffic.
