At the foot of Mt. Mikusa in Hyogo Prefecture, the place associated with a heroic warrior Minamoto-no-Yoshitsune (1159-1190),
a Buddhist temple that embodies traditional culture and state-of-the-art technologies was erected.

In its vast precinct of 182ha, there stand a total of 15 temple buildings
including the Main Hall which is bigger than Daibutsu-den, the Great Buddha Hall of Todaiji Temple,
the Side Halls, two Bell Towers each with a Japanese Grand Bell,
the vermillion-lacquered octagonal shrine named Prince Shotoku Hall,
the Five-story Pagoda all built of wood using the traditional timber framework method.

These buildings were constructed with wood members of an unprecedented scale in size and weight and were decorated with tens of thousands of sculptures and metal.

Doctrine

1.Basic of Faith:
Based on the teachings of Lord Buddha,"All the Scriptures of Buddhism" (7,000 to 8,000 volumes),
we truly believe in Amida Buddha(Nenbutsu) that was preached by Lord Buddha.

2.Purpose:
Ami to achieve "Maha-pari-nirvana" which was preached in "All the Scriptures of Buddhism."

3.Ideal
"The Four Institutions(Shika-in)"
(1) Seyaku-in "Serenity for the body" ----- Hospital
(2) Ryobyo-in "Serenity in old age" ----- Home for the aged
(3) Hiden-in "Serenity of equality" ----- Home for the disabled
(4) Kyoden-in "Serenity for the soul" ----- Monastery

Our ideal is to establish "The Four Institutions(Shika-in)" which are the manifestation
of the Buddha's world and the ultimate ideal of mankind.
It was an ideal of Lord Buddha and also that of Price Shotoku, the founder of the Japanese Buddhism.
It will be the realization of "the Land of the True Thusness (Shinnyo-no-sato)",
or the Great Head Temple of the Nenbutsushu Sect of Japan.

Practice

To practice the teachings of Lord Buddha and, first of all, to establish “the true peace of mind” in the family.

1. Importance of appreciation and gratitude
To appreciate everything which supports our lives , and to appreciate and requite kindness.

The Four Kindnesses
(1) Kindness of Parents]
(2) Kindness of Sentient Beings,
(3) Kindness of Nation’s Leader (Society) To follow the rule of society, to respect the elders, and to fulfill one’s duty in the society.
(4) Kindness of the Three Treasures To sincerely believe in Buddha, Dharma, and Sangha

2. The spirits of “the Seventeen Constitution” enacted by Prince Shotoku, the founder of Japanese Buddhism.
Basis of our life is to have a sense of Harmony, to have a high regard for faith and politeness, and to try to be the good model of general people.
