The vision statement outlines the cultural and historical past of the city of Vijayawada with Krishna
River as the perennial source and a landmark of cultural heritage. The citizens of the city are committed
to maintain the heritage and make the city eco friendly. They also foresee Vijayawada as a tourist
attraction in the coming years.
The city of Vijayawada is also envisaged to be an inclusive city for all including the poor and the
vulnerable. The poor and the destitute will be integrated into the main stream and disparity will be
reduced. The city administration would be responsive to all and development will be given highest
priority.
High quality civic services including continuous water supply to all, 100% sanitation, door-to-door
collection of solid waste and good quality roads will be provided to all the citizens. This will not only
enhance the productivity of the city but also contribute to the economic development of the city as a
whole.
