Vembayam is a residential area on the Thiruvananthapuram-Kottarakara road and is 20 km from Thiruvananthapuram. Mamampuzha (a river) has its origin at Panthalakuttu hills in Vembayam.
Mangalapuram and Andoorkonam in the west, Venjaramoodu in the north, Nedumangad and Palode in the east and Kazhakoottam in the south are nearby places. Kesavadasapuram is south of Vembayam.
