The Indian Artistry works with artisans in Tanjavur (Tanjore), a city in the southern state of Tamil Nadu, to bring out traditional and classical South Indian style paintings of Indian deities in their various forms.

A typical Thanjavur painting would consist of one main figure, a deity, with a well-rounded body & almond shaped eyes. This figure would be housed in an enclosure created by means of an arch, curtains etc. The painting would be made by the gilded and gem-set technique - a technique where gold leaves & sparkling stones are used to highlight certain aspects of the painting like ornaments, dresses etc.

These paintings are bright & colourful and breathtakingly beautiful and becomes the center piece of the room they are in. The impact in a darkened room is that of a glowing presence.

While child Krishna and his various pranks have been the most favorite subject for Tanjore paintings, over the years, paintings of other deities are also created.

Traditional Thanjavur paintings are possessed as heirlooms given the richness of colours and semi precious stones.

The paintings are also encase in traditional and artistic pure wood frames which enhances the beauty of these paintings.
