Sivagiri is a panchayat town in Erode district in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu.Sivagiri has an average elevation of. It is located 25km to the south of Erode, 35km to the north-west of Karur, 40km to the west of Namakkal and 45km to the east of Tirupur. Nearest areas are Kodumudi,Muthur,Modukurchi.Mostly Kongu Vellalar gounder peoples lived and also various caste such as chetiyar,senguntha mudaliyar.Sivagiri means "Shiva's peak",also called as Kanagagiri. which might have been derived from the hill lock with a Shiva temple located in the town.The economy of the town is dependent on the agriculture and textile industries(Handloom).
