Shri Durgiana Teerth in Amritsar is a focal point of faith for the Hindus. Pilgrims flock to this temple not only from India but also from abroad. Over the years, it has become an epicenter of Hindu renaissance and rejuvenation. The complex is popularly known as the Durgiana derives its name from the Goddess Durga. This connection with Goddess Durga has a socio cultural references as Goddess Durga is normally invoked for protection and health while the soldiers go to war. Placed strategically in the middle of the city, the Mandir is very easily approachable by Rail, Road & Air.

The sacred city of the Amritsar has come to assume a special significance in Hindu cosmology because of various historical connections. Amritsar is particularly nearer and dearer to Hindus as Lov & Kush along with their mother Mata Sita spent their early childhood in the ashram of Bhagwan Maharishi Balmiki ji.

It is a few yards away from Railway Station & about 1.5 km from the Bus Stand. This City of Amritsar is pious, as it was visited by Maryada Parshotam Lord Rama. Lov & Kush spent their childhood along with their mother Mata Sita on this soil in the Ashram of Maharishi Balmiki. King Ishvaku Grandson of Surya Devta performed a number of Yagya on this land. This religious & pious place of the Durgiana Mandir is managed by Durgiana Committee (Regd.). The Trust utilizes the offerings of the Temple & other resources for the various activities for the welfare of the society irrespective of religion, caste and creed. Gods & Goddesses of the Hindus i.e Lakshmi Narain, Lord Rama, Maa Sita, Lakshman, Bharat, Radha Krishna ji, Shri Hanuman ji, Lord Shiva & Sat Narain, are in existence here. There is a continuous flow of devotees throughout the day till late in the evening. The blessings of the Gods fulfill the desires of all.
