Growing up, I saw my mother bake for me and my friends. She stayed up nights to bake these really exotic cakes for special occasions; birthday cakes, last-day-of-exam treats, farewell brownies and more. She baked them all with love that oozed out of each bite that we took.

Despite growing up with a love for desserts, and studying the art of baking formally, I am still to find a cake that compares to hers. The best cakes are those that are minimalist in design, rich in flavour, dense, moist, and melt in the mouth.

It is this perfection - the meaning of which my mother's baking taught me - that I now strive to consistently recreate in my kitchen. I work hard to ensure that with or without decorations, there is no compromise in the taste and texture of the goodies that I prepare.
