From the beginning Shisha Café has had a principle which is totally consistent with jazz tradition. The main focus of the Café has always been music and the musicians. All that is showcased at the cafe is jazz at its best. The Café has hosted a cross section of India's finest jazz musicians and also some budding closet musicians who've been offered the stage to debut at Shisha.

Artists from overseas who've performed at Shisha include Houston Pearson, Regina Carter, Eric Trufaz, Saskia Laroo, Tony Lacatos, Igor Butman & The Eli Yamen Quartet from the Lincoln Center for Performing Arts amongst others. Musicians that have performed at Shisha came out saying the venue and audience at Shisha ranks amongst the best anywhere. Not for nothing then, the catch phrase for the Café has been “There's nothing like a live nite at Shisha”
