Shikhar Yuva Manch - SYM 2.2

• Shikhar Yuva Manch ( SYM) is a leading non governmental organization which works with grass root people, for grass root people aiming at their al-round development emphasizing on children issues in related to education for all ad food security. It is a team of young and dynamic youths who are determined to bring social change through the behavior change of people and to change of prospect. SYM thinks that the children are the plinth of the society who need their rights to be reserved. SYM is trying to avail the education facilities to the children who are standing in the last of the queue of the society including disable children. And also made efforts to provide sustainable livelihood to the marginalized to ensure food security.

SYM is working in 5 districts of Bilaspur, Kawardha,korba,Mungeli and Sarguja of Chhattisgarh covering 273 villages directly and indirectly along with 22 partners. It has good experience in working with children and education issue. In Kawardha district SYM is working on education and child issue especially on language issue in the inter state border areas of Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh. In Sarguja and Bilaspur, SYM is initiating child rights issues and working on education for all, ensuring proper service delivery. In Bilaspur district SYM also initiating advocacy process through CBOs and facilitating them to raise their voice for their rights and provisions under MNREGA. With regard to health issues SYM is working in mobilizing and facilitating community for institutional delivery, vaccination of children and expecting mothers. SYM had also trained health workers in villages for first aid treatment of the community and on seasonal diseases. Climate change, disability and gender are the cross cutting concerns which the organisation addresses through all its programmes and projects.
