Sarjan Foundation 2.05

Sarjan is a public charity set up way back in the year 1997 having its main office at Ahmedabad. Sarjan is striving hard to improve the quality of life of the deprived, marginalized and underprivileged sections of the society. Its thrust areas are education and health.

‘Marg’ offered six months duration courses for learning Turning, Wiring, Welding, Fabrication, and Basic Computer operating skills on its own. In the year 2012 Sarjan started advanced training in CNC lathe machine.

From August 2009 ‘Marg’ started offering training in NCVT (National Council for Vocational Training) pattern Turner, Wireman and Welder Trades under CTS (Craftsmen Training Scheme) affiliated with NCVT vide order on file No. DGET-6/6/2009-TC made by Director General Employment and Training (D.G.E.T.) New Delhi, Government of India.

Marg has also trained 813 youngsters in six months duration Turning, Wiring, Welding and Fabrication skills between 2007 and 2012. Currently 106 trainees are undergoing training in these skills. From 2009 these courses are offered under the aegis of BSS (Bharat Sevak Samaj) a National Development Agency promoted by the Planning Commission, Government of India.

‘Marg’ has besides groomed 42 tribals (27 ladies+15 males) as Asstt. Mason under training programme of CEPT University which is approved as State Level Anchor Institute for Infrastructure Sector.

Almost all the trainees have got placements on completion of their training. A few of them have started their own business too.
