Saahas, a not for profit NGO, was set up in 2001 under the Society’s Act by Ms. Wilma Rodrigues. Saahas primarily implements programs based on the concepts of ‘Source Segregation’ and ‘Decentralized Waste Management’ within the framework of the Municipal Solid Waste Management and Handling Rules, 2016. Saahas works with government institutions, companies, households and schools to bring attention to best practices in solid waste management, as well as establish collection and processing infrastructure. Its programs also provide livelihood opportunities for the informal sector and those at the bottom of the value chain.
The head office of Saahas is in Bangalore with project offices in Gurgaon Gujarat, Hubbali and Ballary.
