Ryan International Schools are a group of private educational institutions in India that were founded in 1976 by Dr. A. F. Pinto. The Ryan Group started its first school in Mumbai in 1976 and currently has 186 schools located in 18 states within India and at many places outside India too. Ryan International is in lime light and controversies in last few years for criminal activities in its several schools.List of ControversiesPradyuman Thakur Murder CaseOn 8th September 2017, a Class 2 student of Ryan International school in Bhondsi, Gurgaon, was found inside a toilet with his throat slit, crawling and bleeding profusely before he died. The eight-year-old Pradyuman Thakur was attacked just minutes after his father dropped him and his elder sister to school, a short drive from their home. The school bus conductor, Ashok Kumar, has been arrested for the murder who allegedly confessed to killing the boy after trying to sexually assault him in the toilet. The child was brought to nearest hospital by the school's acting principal Neerja Batra and one of the teacher, but was pronounced dead on arrival by doctor. A Special Investigation Team (SIT) was initiated by the state government after the case received media attention and it found shocking laxity on the part of school management. The probe report mentioned that the school lacked separate toilets for students, drivers, and others. It observed most of the CCTV cameras were not working on that day and the school recruited the staffs without proper background check . Francis Thomas, regional head of the Ryan group of institutions, and HR head Jeyus Thomas were arrested on 10th September and booked under section 75 of the Juvenile Justice Act on suspicion of tampering with the evidence at the crime spot.
