The Department of MBA was established in the year 2004, with the vision to be in the fore front of management education and research by imparting conceptual knowledge and managerial skills in a learning environment of high academic ambiance. The MBA programme offered at R N S Institute of Technology is a two year full time P.G. degree affiliated to Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU), recognized by the Government of Karnataka and approved by AICTE, New Delhi. MBA Department,at RNSIT, has been recognized as a research center by VTU from the academic year 2009-10 to offer the programme leading to the award of the degree of Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.).The greatest asset of the Department is its faculty. The faculty has an ideal blend of high academic qualifications, extensive experience (both academic and industry) and practical knowledge The learning at the Department is beyond the curriculum prescribed by the university and is aimed at preparing the students to take up managerial responsibilities with confidence. The Department has an exclusive library that offers excellent reference material needed for the understanding of the subjects with volumes covering from the basic to the advanced concepts. The library has extensive number of journals, magazines and newspapers for updating the knowledge. The computer center of the Department is equipped with 60 state of the art erminals with internet connectivity. An AM room attached to the Department is provided with DTH connection and thus provides opportunity to the students to be in touch with the business environment and the latest happenings. The Department has been organizing an annual inter collegiate national level management fest “Gestione”. More than 70 institutes participated in “Gestione-09”. Programmes on personality development, interpersonal and negotiation skills are being carried on a regular basis to give them the edge in facing the real life situations. Our students are trained at Pegasus Institute of excellence, which is one of the world class training institute. The academic results of the students have been phenomenal. Our students have bagged 1st and 10th rank in VTU this year, Faculty members of the Department have the distinction of bringing out two text books, which are recommended by many universities including VTU. The faculty has made over 20 publications at both national and international conferences during the academic year. The department has three professors of which two are Ph.D. holders. The Department is planning to undertake research projects which are of social significance. MBA Department has conducted two day National Level Conference on “Contemporary Issues and Challenges in Banking and Financial Sector in India” during 29th - 30th April 2010. We have received 100 papers for the conference and the book is brought on the same theme.
