Ranga Theatre, established in 2007, is an experimental theatre group in Mumbai. It has toured throughout India and abroad for prestigious Theatre Festivals. Since its inception it has successfully contemporized world famous classics like Sophocles’ Oedipus Rex, Shakespeare’s Mid Summer Night’s Dream (Pyaar Pe Waar), Akira Kurosawa’s Rashomon (Rashomon Blues), Dharamveer Bharti’s Andha Yug, Shivaji Sawant’s Mrityunjay (Karna- The generous Warrior).

Ranga theatre has also contributed for children’s theatre in India. It is the theatre company to produce for the first time a stage adaptation of Yann Martel’s Booker prize winner “Life Of Pi” called “Pi – In search of God’s name”. It has also amalgamated two children’s classics –Lewis Carroll's “Alice in Wonderland” and Miguel de Cervantes‘ “Don Quixote” into “Quixotic Wonderland” which was featured in national children’s festivals.

Classics remain in books but for keeping them immortal, we strive to create elements of grandeur and aesthetic magnificence in our productions by assimilating various elements like martial art forms -“Thang Ta and Chhau”, fusion music ,visual effects, 3-D and projection, languages, different forms of illusion on stage, which make our plays dynamic and chronicle them in the minds of our audience.
