In the field of Education- President Mr. Sankar Biswas thought deep into the matter of modern education system and its growing versatility in the country. But he does not believe in an education system which cannot be applicable to children and students equally without any discrimination of caste, creed, community and faith or religion. The Mission liked to demonstrate a culture or system in the modern education particularly English medium curriculum in a way so that all get chance of studying in the school from all communities and classes disregarded of high or low, poor or rich.

Mr. Biswas equally felt that in reality, studying in English medium, the future of the students are more exposed to the world for their knowledge culture and to discover the truth of life in running a life through multi cultural environs of the world yet they deserve to know and exploit for development of their own careers and to compete in the global job market.

Besides, Ram Mohan Mission being at par with ideals and vision of the Bharat Pathik Raja Rammohan Roy in the imposition of English in the academic curriculum during his time so that knowledge of science of the student takes to perfection through English knowledge because of almost all books on science for higher studies are composed in English language.

Hence Ram Mohan Mission established in South Kolkata an English Medium School running in four buildings in which students are admitted acknowledging their commitment in the admission form during admission that they will never accept or allow dowry when they will grow up and marry .This is undoubtedly a respectful and solemn promise which symbolizes a character of an ideal educated .
Such is the system along with other norms vital to up keeping the ideology of proper human ship from the very start of academic life with Ram Mohan Mission School. By now after about 10 years of establishing the school,
the student strength rose up to about 4000 Students are studying here with lesser fees than other schools as well as are being ideally shaped through leading by the expert teachers.In the school moral classes are already there in its curriculum where they also actively leave the social welfare and participate sometimes actively with welfaring of Ram Mohan Mission.

The Mission has decided to establish one school in each district of the state in honour of the great soul Raja Rammohan Roy where the students will grow up academically with strong ethical morals, knowledge and discipline forming them as ideal citizens of the country.

The demand for education through English medium is unmistakably high among all sections of population. The available facilities however are abysmally inadequate.


Rammohan Mission High School sponsored Institute of Rammohan Mission founded by Sri Sankar Biswas in 1978, has dedicated itself to the task of doing its bit to narrow down this gap between needs and supply. After a brief stint as a WBCS office Sri Biswas passed IAS and was absorbed in the Indian Revenue Service (IRS). He left his career as a civil servant and switched on to the industry where he rose to grate heights. His profound faith in Rammohan's ideals and his literary and cultural capabilities has marked him out as an outstanding educationist.
Raja Rammohan Roy's rational interpretation of Indian's past and his sensible projection of its future led Rabindranath to say that "Rammohan's Heart symbolises Indian heart."

The goal of education, according to Bacon, shouldbe the recoveryof Man's innocence(which appears to be lost)through religion and faith and the re-enforcement of Man's masteryover Nature (which is also declining)through Arts and sciences. Rammohanhad a strong belief in this concept. And Raja Ram mohon's teachings have profoundly influenced Biswas.

Ram Mohan Mission School is affiliated to the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations, New Delhi. The Mission is registered under the Societies Registration Act, Foreign Contribution Regulation Act and Income Tax Act. At present respective Panchayat raj institutions is the main cooperation institution.
