Punjabi University 7.32

This university is the second university (after Hebrew University,Jerusalem) to be named after a language - Punjabi in this case. The Primary Mission of this university is for the promotion of Punjab , Punjabi and Punjabiyat - Meaning o tpromote the state of Punjab , its language (Punjabi ) and its culture ( Punjabiyat). This unversity is the only university in the Punjab's malwa region( region south of Sutlej upto Jhajhar river). P.U.P has two regional campuses as well. Since its inception the university has diversified itself into 50+ departments teaching languages, dances, social science, astronomy, science, management, sports, gurmat sangeet, theatre, law and engineering.
