OOSH- our ”Out Of Shell” journey has been spear headed and conceptualized by Rakhee Gupta, a 62 years old woman with immense will power and unfluttering hope. She has always been a woman of skills, multi-tasking, creativity and communication. Like they say it’s never too late, she has overcome the shackles of age and the boundaries of typical domestic life of an elderly house wife. She had been married in a family of traders who have been dealing in bulk spices, nuts and dry fruits since the year 1940 in the biggest wholesale market of Asia (popularly known as Delhi-6). Having a keen business mind, she has always had interest in the whereabouts and intricacies of her family business. She started operating from her home kitchen, with one small oven. Her oil free dry roasted nuts, almonds, cashews, pistachios have always been a big hit with weight watchers and taste seeker of all age groups among family and friends. Word spread and gradually she started receiving request in bulk during festive seasons. Sometimes she would refuse but they wouldn’t take ‘no’ for an answer. Getting support and advice from family and friends, especially her mother-in-law, she set out to give shape to her dream of being an entrepreneur and help to commercialize and expand the family business beyond the confines of one city for bringing the best to the courtyard of every Indian household! She has aligned us, the entire family, with her dreams and objectives, thus leading to the formation of Food’s Odyssey LLP, our first breakthrough in 2016.
