Mylakkadu is a small suburban Village and Junction Just near the town Kottiyam. Which is located in Kollam district of Kerala state in India.LocationIthikkara and Ithikkara River are nearby, as is NH 47. The National Highway is very helpful in the development of Mylakkadu. Mylakkadu is also connected to Kannanalloor and Kundara through Mylakkadu - Kannanalloor road.EconomyMylakkadu is well known on its clay and bricks industries. Travancore poteries and Regal are the oldest factories in Mylakkadu. These factories are started on the colonial period. Kottiyam, Paravur and Chathannoor are the nearest towns.Reaching Mylakkadu Kollam - Kollam Junction railway station - Pallimukku - Kottiyam - Mylakkadu (12 km) Trivandrum International Airport - Kazhakoottam - Attingal - Chathannoor - Mylakkadu (55 km) Kottiyam - Mylakkadu (1 km) Paravur - Chathannoor - Mylakkadu (8.5 km)There is a very tough slope on NH 47 58 km from Trivandrum and 13 km from Kollam. The Bridges & Highways authority have studied & reported this area as a "Dangerous Zone." Several road accidents have happened here with deaths and injuries. Some ideas and plans to modify this heavily sloped road have been suggested, but no changes have been made.
