Psychiatry is the medical specialty that diagnoses, treats and cares for patients with mental or emotional disorders and related problems.

Although stigmatized and marginalized in the past owing to its association with asylums and inhumane treatment modalities entangled with a lack of understanding and an air of mystery and darkness, mental health care has now gone beyond treating severely impaired patients.

‘Normal’ can no longer be defined, but what can be identified is happiness or the lack of it, whether we are defeated by troubles of everyday life or we meet the challenge, whether we can maintain our balance and sanity in the face of adversity or monotony or we are thrown off the ledge.

In simple words, whether we live our life with the glory it demands…After all, isn’t this what truly matters?

At our centre, we believe that providing mental health care is not just about treating and managing psychiatric illnesses but also about using the illness as an opportunity to introspect and find greater clarity, joy and peace. It is thus, our aim for every patient who walks into the centre, that they not only resolve the illness but also get set on the road to a happier and more fulfilled life.

Because, at the end of it, all we truly have is our mind…
