Maheshwar: Is a town built on the banks of River Narmada (a.k.a Rewa). The main attraction of Maheshwar is the temple and Holkar’s fort/palace (erstwhile ruler’s name). This place also has a “Ghat” – broad stone steps which go down to the river. This is normally is seen when there is a Temple by the river. Maheshwar is also known for its unique weave of cotton fabric. Do visit one of the looms/outlets if you can. There are plenty of birds for birders to spot.
