M S Ramaiah University of Applied Sciences 5.01

M.S. Ramaiah University of Applied Sciences (MSRUAS) created by an act in the State of Karnataka, India, came into existence in December 2013. The University is sponsored by Gokula Education Foundation (Medical) - trust. The University was created by transferring “M.S. Ramaiah School of Advanced Studies (1999), M.S. Ramaiah College of Hotel Management (1993), M.S. Ramaiah College of Pharmacy (1992), M.S. Ramaiah Dental College (1991), M.S. Ramaiah Ayush Arogyadhama (2006) and M.S. Ramaiah Advanced Learning Centre (2012)”.
The University aims to focus its programmes on student centric higher education so that the graduates are equipped with the theoretical knowledge and skills expected by industry and business. The university has five verticals – Academic studies; Academic Research; Sponsored Research; Training, Skill Development and Lifelong Learning; and Consultancy, Product Design and Development and Entrepreneurship Development (Techno Centre). Student of the University will experience an integrated approach to academics, research, training, real life problem solving and entrepreneurship.

The University has Faculty of Engineering and Technology, Faculty of Art and Design, Faculty of Management and Commerce, Faculty of Hospitality Management and Catering Technology, Faculty of Pharmacy, Faculty of Dental Sciences, Faculty of Science & Humanities and Faculty of Ayurveda and Integrative Medicine. Through these faculties, the University offers undergraduate, postgraduate and Doctoral programmes. The faculties offer an enriched curriculum drawn from the strong relations the faculties have had industry and business. The University has created Directorates of: Student Placement, Welfare and Career Advice (SPWCA), Sponsored Research, Quality, Educational Processes and Educational Technologies, Training and Lifelong Learning (TLLL), Techno Centre to provide rich all-round experience to the students.

The University head office is located at the Gnanagangothri Campus, MSR Nagar, New BEL Road, Bangalore and is surrounded by the campuses of the Indian Institute of Science, Central Power Research Institute and Indian Space Research Organisation. The University has invested in modern infrastructural facilities, Laboratories, Libraries, Class Rooms and all other support facilities to make the students’ experience enjoyable and memorable. The M. S. Ramaiah University of Applied Sciences will work on the philosophy of inclusiveness and service to society; train its staff and students to contribute significantly to the growth of science, technology, humanities and society through their imaginative, creative and innovative pursuits. At present there are 2000 students and more than 250 members of faculty.
