In a fast paced world, with expanding cities and shrinking open spaces and lifestyle diseases that affect children as young as 6 months old- the need for physical activity has never been greater. Child obesity, respiratory disorders, lowered immunity, stress and a higher attention deficit and autism spectrum diseases are few of the health issues that children face today. Most of these can be significantly reduced with a healthy diet and physical activity. Research has shown the importance of play in early childhood development and recommends that kids of all ages from infants to preschoolers should not be kept inactive, for more than one hour at a time, with the exception of sleeping. Young children should be active for more than half the time they are awake. Brain architecture, cognitive development, emotional and social bonding and self esteem are all affected by the level of physical activity. In fact one research showed that kids who were physically active were better at Math and also tend to be happier.
At KidzClub F3, we provide a children’s program that integrates fitness with cognitive and emotional development and establishes a foundation of healthy behaviours, patterns and a lifestyle of fitness in a safe and nurturing environment.
