Kerala State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) started in 1938 as State Motor Service. In 1965, the company was made autonomous and made a corporation. Bangalore is one of the most important destinations of KSRTC. It is presently the biggest interstate operating office outside the state of Kerala. Bangalore office handles
45 departures daily, including 5 Volvo Multi-Axle, 21 Super Deluxe, 8 Super Deluxe and 11 Super Fast Services.

The unit has 4 reservation centres - at Satellite Bus Station, Kempegowda Bus Station (Majestic), Shantinagar BMTC Bus Station and Kalasipalya BMTC/KSRTC Bus Station.
