Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan is an autonomous body under the Ministry of H.R.D, Govt Of India which was started way back in 1964 for the benefit of the children of transferable employees of the Government of India. 981 schools are located allover India under 18 different regions KVS LUCKNOW REGION is one among the 18 regions which connects 66 Kendriya Vidyalayas dotted on the landscape of
Uttar Pradesh. Kendriya Vidyalayas have an effective and well-knit organizational set-up. Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan and its Board of Governors are headed by the Minister of Human Resource Development as the Chairman.
Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan Lucknow Region was established in 1970 . 66 Kendriya Vidyalayas (+6 Second Shift) located in Uttar Pradesh are controlled by this Office . The geographical area of schools under Lucknow Region is wide from Bulandshahar to Allahabad (Phulpur) and Balrampur to Talbehat. The region is headed by Asstt. Commissioner . Presently , head of the region is Sh. A.K. Vajpayee (Asstt. Commissioner) who has a vast experience of educational and administrative experience.
The Academic supervision / monitoring is done through three Education Officers, Administrative monitoring through Admin Officer and Financial monitoring through Accounts & Audit Officer( AAO).
