Karunakarya 2.59

Karunakarya is a registered non-profit community service and development organization operating in the districts of Chennai and Kanchipuram, India. We have been working among the urban and rural poor for the past 15 years. Currently, we run projects to support education and livelihood needs of children and adults through holistic education. Apart from various community development projects, we run a primary school and a community college to serve children and youth in villages near Oragadam in the Kanchipuram district. We also have a handicrafts project called Karuna Creations which focuses on the training and development of otherwise unemployable people like mentally or physically challenged people, and destitute women. Our main focus is on total community development. Through our primary school, we also have the opportunity of reaching out to the parents and adult communities of the villages. We aim to aid the people in realizing the importance of education and get them to break out of the cycle of poverty.
