The International Society for Krishna Consciousness is popularly known as ISKCON, and was established in 1966 by His Divine Grace A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Srila Prabhupada in the USA. He departed from this mortal world in 1977 after establishing over 108 temples all over the world. He initiated thousands of devotees and still continues to touch the hearts of millions of people world over through the medium of his books. These books which are published by the Bhaktivedanta Book Trust (BBT) are a treasure of Vedic knowledge explained in a language easily comprehensible to the contemporary man.

Since 1977, ISKCON has developed into a world wide confederation of thousands of temple devotees and millions of congregational devotees.
