Indibar was a young man with immense talent and love for life. A double MA in history and political Science, a Financial Consultant, a passionate traveler, who loved to explore the unknown and remote places of India. His loved for trains was so intense that at the tender age of six he had learnt the Bradshaw by heart.

He loved nature with its sunrise and sunset claiming them to be the cinema of life. The film festivals of the world fascinated him so powerfully that he became a film journalist and a noted film-critic. Everything in life interested him. His loving nature was like sunshine falling on any person, he came in contact with.

Such a lovable person was snatched away from us on 12th July 2013.He was suffering from kidney failure. While waiting for a kidney donor he went through the pain full process of dialysis for quite sometime. What was remarkable in this young man was his optimistic spirit. He never let anyone know the pain and suffering he underwent. He was always smiling and cheerful. He loved life so fully.

His unfortunate and untimely death has shattered us. It is a tragedy too deep for tears. So we the Trustees of Indibar Memorial Charitable Trust have joined hands to keep him alive through this trust. This trust will give donation and help to those going through the same phase that Indibar went through. Millions are suffering and need help. Our aim is to make people aware of donating their Organs specially the kidneys and save many precious lives. Had Indibar been given a transplant earlier he might have been saved. However, Indibar will always live in our hearts through this noble and dedicated cause. Those benefiting will surely be blessed and remember this wonderful man. Let the flame of his indomitable spirit never be extinguished.

We earnestly request people from all walks of life to come forward an d donate generously so that the funds under the Trust can increase every passing day and let sunshine spread to a larger spectrum of people . The Trust shall not forget the poorest of the poor, their needs are of paramount importance. They do not know how to go about when disaster strikes them.

Our untiring endeavour would be to reach out to them and consistently help them financially from the Indibar memorial Charitable Trust.

Indibar premature demise has left me bereft of speech. Words can never be enough to explain the unique bond of friendship and association that we shared since our early school days at St Xavier’s School, Kolkata. As with most others growing up together was not always a great experience for both of us. Yet what kept our friendship intact was our deep commitment to be there for each other in any form of crisis. What was truly remarkable perhaps was the fact that we managed to keep in touch even beyond our school days through the academic and professional commitments I could not be there always beside him during his prolonged suffering due to his kidney ailment and other correlated complications. Yet that did not decelerate the scale of our bonding. When never we got the chance to meet and share our experience we exchanged our differences, laughter and mutual appreciation for each other’s work. Even a week or so before his sudden demise I remember engaging myself in a prolonged intense conversation on the films that I had seen and he had missed out due to his illness. He was passionate about movie and all of us close to him would remember we were not supposed to disturb him during the various film festivals running in the city. Yet he would return after such festival with his valuable feedback, recommendations and opinions. Our every conversation was a renewal from where we had left in our earlier meeting. Like all friends we had our share of difference but that only further strengthened our bonding. Besides being a close buddy people would be surprised to learn that he was also my investment consultant and travel agent. Whenever I took my family members out for a trip, he would meticulously organize the itinerary and arrange for air/rail and hotel bookings. He would also guide me through the maze of the financial investment horizon which was a confused zone for me except for his intervention. All this he accomplished with the aid of his partner Raja with utmost care and caution. Today it is hard to believe that he is no more. On so many occasions I am on the brink of involuntarily dialing his mobile no to share something personal only to reconcile myself to the irrevocable fact that his mortal voice has been silenced forever.

Yet each premature death leaves a trail of lessons behind. At the IMCT it would be our earnest endeavor to ensure that other people do not lose their friends or their near and dear ones due to inordinate delay or inability to procure vital body organs. Organ donation awareness is still in its infancy in our country. When it comes to pledging body parts for donation, a host of inhibitions, superstitions and other mental hurdles come in the way. It is my deep conviction that the initiative taken by Kakoli bose and Ritam Das and several others in formation of this trust would go a long long way in changing the stalemate situation prevalent in the country. Only then can we save hundreds of lives amongst us.

With sincere earnest prayers that may Indibar rest in peace, I humble also pray so that he can be a constant presence in spite of his absence—a guiding force of strength and inspiration in bringing about a much needed change in the society.
