Guru Angad Dev Sewa Society 2.24

Guru Angad Dev Sewa Society, Ludhiana was established in 1997 by a group of educationists and doctors, with the aim of bringing about a change in the lives of underprivileged people, with participatory efforts. This society is a member of COMMON HEALTH and is affiliated to UNITED NATIONS.

ACTIVITIES IN THE PAST:
Guru Angad Dev Charitable hospital has been providing healthcare facilities to slum dwellers of Ludhiana city since last 18 years. Helpage International, UNICEF, Ministry of Health Govt. of Indian have helped us in last two decades through various projects.

AWARENESS PROGRAMS:-
The society has raised the issue of several social evils present in our society specially the issue of Female foeticide. we have organized state level workshops, awareness campaign among the society (Public) on this issue.

WOMEN EMPOWERMENT
For last 12 years we have been running a project called Jan Shikshan Sansthan to provide basic literacy and vocational training to rural females so that they can become self reliant. We train about 2000 females every year.

REPRODUCTIVE AND CHILD HEALTH PROJECT:-
As Government health facilities for slum dwellers are absent or inadequate we have adopted 20000 population of slum area to provide reproductive and child health services at door step. Health workers go house to house and provide services to pregnant females, Adolescents and children. Iron folic acid tablets, calcium tablets& Sanitary Napkins are distributed free of cost in this project.
