Ushering his brand in with bridging contradictory worlds has made Gaurav Gupta the most swiftly recognised name in Indian fashion. Tying severe military lines to extreme couture, traveling through Greek Goths and creating a forest with magically real nymphs are but a few indelible marks that have gone in to create collections that are future primitive.
An alumnus of Central Saint Martin’s College, London, Gaurav’s work began to be recognised early on with honours like‘The Future of Couture’ trophy at Altaroma Altamoda at the Rome Couture Fashion Week and ‘The Roots of Creativity’ title at the Mittelmoda Fashion Awards in Italy besides other recognitions in Japan, Russia and India as a breakthrough designer.
Gaurav works very closely with lines and the motion of fabric. Embroideries in three dimensions, volume play and extempore draping have created a signature look that is hard to place but is reminiscent of a familiar classic.
