Elim’s History
Late Rev. D. Thomas walker was the founder of ‘Elim A.G. Church’ and the Elim ‘Missionary Movement’ in Madurai. He resigned his job from southern Railway to serve the God. He also served as a presbyter for salem &Dharmapuri district of TN Assemblies of God. He also served as the Mission Director of A.G. TamilNadu and also worked as the crusade director for ‘Paripooranna Jeevan ‘ He also supported many missionaries in North India.
His wife Mrs. Suseela Thomas , a prayer warrior and a woman of faith made a blessed partnership for this fruitful ministry. She spent most of her time spreading the word of God among children and worman. God had blessed them with 7 children. Elim prayer House was established on 1979 with a attendance of few believers. Their living testimony paved way for many to enter into the house of God . Their sacrificial contribution to sow the seed of word and faith among believers still made a strong belief to withstand and overcome many calamities facing them through the word of God. After the death of Ps. Thomas walker , it was handed over to his son Ps. Corban Singh.
The Purpose of the Elim Ministry is to glorify God through Proclaiming and teaching the Gospel of Jesus Christ , serving people in need and establishing disciples among all people in our community and sending many missionaries to N. India for sowing the word and reaping the harvest.
