Durga College history begins from 1951.The College is founded with the collective efforts of many devoted experts having long and outstanding academic experience in the field of education.Late Pandit Ramnarayan ji Dixit name comes first in this order the person who put Cornerstone of Durga Mahavidyalaya.

The social and political figures, who are all committed to one cause, that is to create and develop expert education facilities, in order to train deserving young men and women, who have an ambition to pursue higher studies in Arts, Comerce, Science and are desirous of acquiring skills and to make available the much needed expert personnel and skilled manpower to the fast growing nation and institutions in the fields of various branches of education.



The Durga Society was founded by late pandit Ramnarayan ji Dixit.The college was started with just 56 students and now it contributing more than 3000 student of the Chhattisgarh state. It became one of the popular degree college of Chhattisgarh.

Durga Mahavidyalaya is run by Durga Educational Society. The college is affiliated by pt. Ravishankar Shukla University Raipur Chhattisgarh. College provides the facility to study in 11 subjects in arts background in bachelor degree courses and master degree in Hindi, English, Political Science, Geography and Commerce subjects. College also provids the facility of diploma in management and accounts after graduation. Durga Mahavidyalaya is recognized as research center in 8 subjects by University. Computer lab has been started in college from session 2002-03 in which PGDCA, DCA, MCM amd B.Com. with computer application courses are studying.
