The Electrical Engineering Department is encompassed within the Zakir Husain college of Engineering and Technology .The department evolves around professional, qualified educators providing quality education to students with hands on experience, serving the state and the nation in a competitive global environment. For over 60 years the department has been an ever-learning institution, receptive and responsible to corporate, professional and social obligations, creating an atmosphere of culture conducive to academic excellence.

The department has a sanctioned strength of 25 staff members. Out of the existing staff members, 14 have doctoral degrees specializing in the areas of Power systems, Electrical Machines, Electrical Drives, High Voltage Engineering, and Instrumentation, Control systems, Biomedical Engineering, Microprocessors & Computers and Renewable sources of Energy.

The department has in total fourteen laboratories. The department has, on cards, the proposal of establishing Standardization, Bioinstrumentation, Advanced Power Electronics, Advanced Drives, and EMS & SCADA laboratories. The existing laboratories cater to the needs of undergraduate and postgraduate students under the above-cited areas of specialization.

The vision of the department reflects the talent of faculty, the quality of program, the quality of bright and hardworking students, the dedication of staff, faculty, and administration towards the institution and its mission, and the effective network of its distinguished alumni and sincere loyal friends worldwide.

Electronic Periodicals are available through the college network on each and every system of the department. Few of them are ASCE, ASME, IEL(05 simultaneous users), ACM, Science Direct etc.
