Cross Trust was founded in1994 with the aim of ensuring community development programs through health based interventions around nagercoil, marthandam. We focus on students from the socially and economically marginalized poor families as our key target people. Majority of them hail from socially and economically marginalized poor families. Socially marginalized means that they belong to backward or dalith communities. Economically marginalized means that they hail from families living below poverty line - mainly landless agriculture coolies. Poverty denies them opportunity to continue higher professional studies. A mere degree in arts subject is no passport for employment in the competitive field.Hence, Mr. Saha Arul Raju, along with a group of like minded social activists created a legal platform named CROSS Trust in the year 1994 to improve the community health through health education. The Trust was structured along the democratic principles. It has a General Body having five members who are the Board of Trustees who elect an Executive Committee having three members. The Executive Committee is headed by The Managing Trustee who is supported by Finance Trustee and Secretary.
To realize the objective, it was decided to start CROSS Para medical College to train youth and adolescent girls in Para medical skills. However, we are not lost sight of the social commitment while starting the Para Medical School. Therefore, we imparted life skills to them to enable them to involve in community development activities.
