Bettiah is the District headquarter under Muzaffarpur Division of the region on Indo-Nepal and Bihar border, having a glorious past in the field of learning and participation in the freedom movement. Bettiah is the agricultural trade center of West Champaran, which is also known for the production of brass, metal ware and leather goods. Muzaffarpur, Hazipur, Gorakhpur Railway junction is on the main Delhi-Guwahati Rail Line and being a five- line junction is well connected with all parts of the country. Bettiah is well connected with the capital Patna by good road.
